What the chart tells you
Moon sign (janma rashi) — where the Moon stood at birth. Vedic matching reads the Moon, not the Sun, so this is usually not the star sign you know from a newspaper.
Nakshatra and pada — the lunar mansion the Moon occupied and which quarter of it. A pada is 3°20′ wide, which is why an accurate birth time matters. All 27 nakshatras →
Ascendant (lagna) — the rashi rising on the eastern horizon at the birth moment. It moves fastest of all, about one rashi every two hours.
Kuja Dosham — whether Mars sits in one of the houses Telugu practice treats as afflicted, counted from the ascendant, the Moon and Venus. Our compatibility calculator assesses it for both sides.
